Prototype

You take the role of Alex Mercer who is trying to discover what happened to him and also try and work out what caused the infection of New York City.

When you first start you wake up on a table in a morgue and as you escape you also attack some soldiers. Once on the street the gameplay begins. You can run up buildings, pick up vehicles and throw them at others, consume people (which i think can be quite amusing once your imagination starts taking effect on ways of consuming them), use your body as weapons, drive tanks and even fly helicopters, although you are limited to staying in the city.

As you progress through the game you can unlock more abilities in which you can use you kill your enemies or civilians. To unlock them however you do need to collect these blood orbs which drop from creatures/enemies and which also restore some of your health.

The powers you can unlock allow you to do more damage to opponents, especially the devastators, can be pretty funny, especially when you drop off the top of the Empire State Building and smash into the ground knocking everything back from the shock "boom bitch". The challenges can be entertaining too, you have ones where you have to kill things within a certain amount of time (slaughter fests as I like to call them), glide and land at certain points (aka irritating), time trials (which basically involve you running around like an idiot trying to collect these orbs on certains buildings as part of a path) and some of the challanges also involve using things like tanks to kill as many creatures as you can in a certain amount of time.

While the game can be annoying at times, it is fun to play in my opinion, especially if youve got a few of the powers unlocked, that makes it more fun to come with some strange ways of killing people or just making them run, although you would think people would stop and question as to why your running up the side of a building but then again not even the military do which is where some ideas start to emerge on how to kill your opponents.

Once you have beaten it however you can play through again with the New Game + mode which allows you to use all your powers from your previous save and play through the story again with them which makes it alot funnier when your killing things that die the second you hit them.

If you like hijacking helicopters, running up buildings or just mindless killing then I highly suggest you play Prototype (even my little brother likes it and its hard to get him into games).
